About Mogadishu Institute of Health

For decades, Somaliaโ€™s health systems, clinical protocols, and public health strategies have relied heavily on evidence generated elsewhere and interpreted by others. While global insights are valuable, they cannotreplace the power of locally anchored knowledge. The Mogadishu Institute of Health (MIH) was established to strengthen Somaliaโ€™s scientific voice and ensure that research shaping our future is grounded in local expertise and rigorous evidence.

Mih is a Somali-led Center of scientific excellence dedicated to advancing health and sustainable development through rigorous research, data-driven innovation, and strategic capacity building. By integrating high-quality evidence with clinical insight and policy engagement, we ensure that research does more than inform reports; it improves care, strengthens institutions, and delivers real impact for communities across Somalia and the region.
